Dear OurPlanet families,

Only a few weeks to go before we have a well-deserved break, allowing the kids to all rest and relax, and get ready for the next term through to the winter break.   It’s nice to enjoy slightly cooler weather now winter is coming on.

Playtime Theatre Company comes to OurPlanet

On Wednesday Ms Ana will be presenting PYP in the Classroom, a workshop explaining how our teachers present the PYP in class every day.  The workshop will be at 8-9am and 6-7pm, in the Arabic Center at school.  Please send Ms Ana an email to confirm your attendance (ana.castro@ourplanet-muscat.com)

There are still some families who have missing documents from their files.  These may prevent your child from being registered in the Ministry of Education Portal system, so please bring them in as soon as possible.

Thank you to all those that no longer turn left into or out of the front gates, it has helped with safety and convenience for all.  Please be sure to remind your drivers still.

Parking at pick up time at the rear gate on Way 1930 has become very congested.  It is imperative that people do not park in front of or next to the main gate, nor block one lane in either direction by parking and leaving the car unattended.  Please be aware of others, and think of their time and convenience as well.

A reminder to check both message areas in ManageBac – homeroom and Parent Association. You will also see messages from specialist teachers such as Arabic if you click on the class.

You should be receiving all messages by email, however, ManageBac is having an issue so in the interim please login to ManageBac to check.

A reminder that login is your email address and password. If you have forgotten your password you can request a new password link from Ms. Heidi (Heidi.allen@ourplanet-muscat.com).

Mark the 8th of November on your child’s calendar! Playtime Theatre Company is performing “Secrets” to PYP 1 to 6 students. The day will look like this:

· 7:55am – Assembly and normal class schedule.

  • 9am to 10am: “Secrets” performed in the Primary playground
  • 10am to 10:30am: morning break
  • 10:30am to 11:30am: Drama workshop for PYP 4,5&6

Attention: This not compulsory – there is a fee of 3.5 rials for the performance (PYP 1, 2, 3), and 5 rials for performance + workshop (PYP 4, 5 & 6).  The homeroom teacher will be collecting the money for this in the homeroom.  If a student does not want to participate (it would be a shame!), but they can stay in the classroom and they will have work to do there, supervised, of course.
